Privacy statement
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This statement explains how personal data is handled by the Power BI custom visual Compensation Explorer, by this website, product.workforce-studio.com, and by the product-support mailbox. Two parties are involved, in different roles.
- Publisher and product-support contact. Alexander Hilbrig, using the Workforce Studio brand, Rosenheimer Straße 72, 81669 München, Germany. Email: ask@workforce-studio.com. Alexander Hilbrig handles product-support enquiries personally and is the controller for section 3.
- Website operator. SK & AH Workforce Intelligence and AI Research GbR, Würzburger Str. 25, 90766 Fürth, Germany, as identified in the Impressum. The GbR is the controller for section 2.
1. Compensation Explorer, Power BI custom visual
- Visual runtime. Version 1.8.2.0 processes the data supplied by Power BI inside the report host. The visual itself makes no external network requests or telemetry calls and does not send report data to Workforce Studio. Website hosting and information voluntarily emailed to support are separate processing activities described below.
- What the visual processes. The data your Power BI report supplies to it, for example employee keys, pay amounts, group identifiers and references, in order to draw compensation distributions and supplied references.
- Storage and saved settings. Compensation Explorer has no separate publisher-operated database or storage service. Employee detail cards are held in the visual's memory. Formatting and view settings can be saved through Power BI as part of the report. Power BI governs report data, bookmarks, saved state, sharing and retention under the customer's configuration and Microsoft's services.
- Display settings and data access. Employee IDs are shown in hover text and cards unless the report author turns that setting off. Additional card fields are off by default and configured by the report author. Hiding a field or identifier is a display choice, not an access-control boundary. Access to compensation data is governed by your Power BI model, permissions and organisational policies.
The publisher therefore receives no personal data through the visual. Personal data in your reports is processed under your organisation's responsibility as controller.
2. This website
- No accounts, forms, cookies or analytics. This website has no sign-in and no contact form, sets no cookies, and uses no analytics or advertising services.
- Hosting and server logs. The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, Vercel processes the technical data needed to deliver it (IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser and operating system information) and may keep it in short-lived server logs for security and operation. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the operator's legitimate interest in a secure, working website. Where Vercel processes data outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Vercel's data processing agreement.
- Fonts, images and downloads. Fonts, images and the Excel template are served from this website. No request goes to Google or another third party.
- External links. Links to third-party sites open those sites, which process data under their own privacy policies.
3. Product support by email
Email hosting. The support mailbox is hosted by checkdomain GmbH, Große Burgstraße 27/29, 23552 Lübeck, Germany, which acts as the publisher's processor. When you contact ask@workforce-studio.com, Alexander Hilbrig uses your email address, the name you provide and your message to handle your product-support enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns the use of the product, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Retention. Support correspondence is deleted once the enquiry is closed and no follow-up is expected, unless a statutory retention obligation or an unresolved claim requires it to be kept longer.
Please use synthetic examples and do not send employee pay records, personal identifiers, passwords or access tokens.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Address requests to the party responsible for the processing in question, in each case via ask@workforce-studio.com. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Ansbach, Germany.
5. Changes and contact
This statement is updated when the visual, the website or the support process changes. The date above shows the current version. See also the End User Licence Agreement, the terms of use and the Impressum.
